Accepting prospective graduate students

Professor Ramos is currently accepting MA and PhD students interested in pursuing work on various sociolinguistics topics (e.g., Spanish language racialization, social perception, reverse linguistic stereotyping, attitudes towards Caribbean Spanish varieties, etc.) involving experimental methods (e.g., matched- or verbal-guise techniques, eye-tracking, etc.) beginning the 2027-2028 Academic Year.

Prospective graduate students wanting to pursue these or other related topics of interest are welcomed to contact Professor Ramos via email ([email protected]) for more information. Applications for graduate programs in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese for the 27-28 Academic Year cycle open in the Fall of 2026 (with a general deadline of January 15, 2027). Information on the MA and PhD in Spanish (Hispanic Linguistics track) can be found in the Department website, with links provided here as well.
